Yesterday my nephew (he'll be four in a month) called me

at work to tell me about my dad's old Ford Maverick. Just to be clear, he said, "My grandpa, my dad's father." I told him I thought I knew the guy, and he laughed. Anyhow, he wanted to tell me about how when it rained or got super-humid, there would be corrosion right on the point of the sparkplug, and when you started the car, the electricity would course through the corrosion from point to point rather than jumping from one to the other in the form of a spark that would ignite the gasoline in the engine. So my dad would sometimes have to take all the plugs out and clean them off before starting the car.
