Why can't you American women be more like the Kiwis?

NZs conservatism is very unlike American conservatism. I can respect and interact well with most NZ conservatives that i have met.

Chalk one up to the "Young Pleasure Seekers." Can I join that party?

We're trying, Jon, we're trying.

I would, jon, if it a) wouldn't get me arrested for public indecency and b) wouldn't completely humiliate me due to the fact that no one (no one who mattered, anyway) would notice.

I think that the word "conservative" has a slightly different meaning in the US than it does in the enlightened world. It doesn't have to mean someone who is pro-war, pro-racism, pro-everything-that-they-don't-agree-with. In a NZ context, it just means people are putting more stock in basic things like family and, perhaps, developing a less selfish attitude (one that has been seen as necessary to be more like the rest of the world). My experience is that kiwis have always placed a high value on these things and maybe it is just that the country, having been out there and seen what the rest of the world is doing, is realising that NZ is a great place with lots of good things in its society.

I could, on the other hand, be full of shit.

Hey, JF... my better half just walked in (he's taking off his pants as we speak, gettin' comfy). You're always welcome to stop by, hang on the porch (jon promises to put pants back on)... we could all stroll over to the beer garden, if we have the energy... or you could help us fold the laundry (depends how kinky you're feelin' : ). Give us a call... you have our number? Email us if not...

(Comin' to Vegas, by the by? Seems to me it's a town just made for ya!)

NZers "becoming more conservative".

Oh, I see.

It used to be a topless and bottomless parade, right?
