Directing traffic I've set up a LiveJournal account as a way to motivate myself to work on resolving a personal problem. But of course it's just one journal in a massive ocean of them. I'd like some traffic so I get some support and don't feel like I'm talking to myself (if that would work, I could just type into a Word file). No, it's not under the Orange Swan name and I'm not going to say what pseudonym I am using because I'm embarrassed to have a blog on such a topic - too bad, since I could easily get a little traffic that way. How do get a little attention?

Hmm, scratch the word "support" and put in "feedback". I basically just want some sort of accountability so I have some sort of external motivation to make progress.

Your best bet is to post it here and have us do it.

I was thinking the same thing TPS. Who better than the bunnies?

Whatever the issue is, you will find it in LJ, I think.

I would just surf around there, read the posts and commments until I found something that resonated, then join whatever community it is.

Good luck, and I wish you progress on this.

Pose naked.

Well it WOULD bring traffic.
Oh sure, there are LOADS of jounals on this topic. I just began my blog yesterday and had no experience at all with LJ, so I'm just figuring out how it works.

Maybe sometime I'll figure out some way to use you guys as motivation for another project, just not this one. Perhaps, for instance, you'd like to kick my butt when it comes to finally finishing the novel I've been writing for a few years.

Get the hell off the interwebs and work on your novel! NOW!

Wait until I give you your cue to begin nagging, Miko;-)

Incidentally, how would I go about posting updates on a project to MeCha? I wouldn't want to open new threads constantly. Sometimes I wish we had a Monkey Filter like format: threads stay permanently open and appear on a sidebar list of "threads with the newest comments".

I like the blog format, but that doesn't seem practicable here. I guess I'd just have to post a link to a LJ blog to my user page and hope at least a few of you people had enough interest to follow the link and post comments telling me to get my ass in my desk chair and the words on the screen.

Whoops. Sorry. Just trying to be supportive.

I actually kind of like the multiple threads approach. It seems like part of the laid-back-ness of MeCha. I mean, it's a community webblog about nothing! Go ahead and start new threads willy-nilly!

Please feel free to add me. Or let me know what your journal's name is so I can add you.

Orange Swan - what about the wiki? I know I regularly check it for updates.
Also, I don't think there's any such thing as spamming on Mecha. If someone doesn't like it, they won't read it. We're all adults here.

It does affect this site's calibre when people post about everything and anything, don't you think? I hate to think I'd push someone else's entertaining post off the page with my drivelling on about the same thing ad nauseum.
