My mission is in Jeapordy! Destroy the planet! Repeat, Destroy the planet! (Kids in the Hall on YouTube) It's been 15 years since I saw this, and at the time I thought it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen. →[More:]A friend from that time was visiting me in Kyoto on Friday, and we picked up where we left off, so this came up and I went looking for it.

Also, I discovered that almost any noun or phrase can be funny if you put the word "wookie" in front of it or behind it, or replace one word in the phrase with "wookie."

The Kids hold up remarkably well. The "Never put salt in your eyes" sketch was on Screenhead a few weeks ago and it still killed me.

It's amazing how often a KITH reference slips into my daily conversation. "Never put salt in your eyes" and "How the hell was I supposed to know he was a hostage" get a lot of use.

I had the pear dream again...

That was the first KITH sketch I ever saw, 15 (or more?!!!!?!!!!) years ago. It was hands-down the funniest thing I ever saw and Brain Candy not long after replaced Airplane! as my personal funniest-movie-of-all-time, and I find that quotes from that movie often provide useful non-sequiturs in conversation.

Won't you take me to ... Funkytown? Red socks! Look at me, I'm an elephant rider! How big is your house? CAT ON MY HEAD!!!
