For one thing, there were seats! And no dance space! For another thing the seats were all hooked together. For yet another thing they were really strict about not letting people in who didn't have a seat, so the people who were in the venue proper were all these rather staid conservative older people. (JFJ did get them singing and clapping and yelling, so it could have been worse- nobody was sitting with his hands in his lap.)

The rest of us crowded around the outside of the tent thingy. It was okay. You should still see and hear, if you were elbowy enough. It was an oddly family-oriented event, but people seemed to be having a good time. There sure as hell wasn't going to be any moshing. It was also oddly sunny, and JFJ and sunshine... sort of a disconnect, somehow.

Well, I wasn't wearing mosh-friendly shoes anyway.

I am against seats at rock concerts, except for a few in the back or on the side for people with handicaps.

I not suggesting they were staid, politically conservative people. There were just a whole lot of collared shirts going on, if you know what I mean.

Nope, not that I could tell. Not that they'd let us in anyway- no seats.

Hey, thanks for the shout out. I have a habit of bailing at the last minute. My friends always end up coming over and "collecting" me... I told mudpuppie, I was still looking at the clock at 7:44 pm thinking I could still make it over there. Sounds like I would have been really disappointed to have arrived so late. I am glad you guys got to see JFJ in action, even if from a distance.

She's playing in San Diego on the 6th, then San Francisco with the Vans Warped Tour THIS SATURDAY, JULY 8th, 2006. Then Fresno, Ventura, Los Angeles, and Marysville.
