Yeah, that one kind of threw me too - it started out being a kind-of-funny poke at "gay culture", then started talking about paedophiles like they are the same thing. Not to mention equating being a parent with being a paedophile.

You know, I'm usually on the "C'mon, it's just a joke" side, but this...I don't know. It just seems unnecessarily mean and stupid. And unfunny.

Maybe it's just an "in" thing that I'm missing.

I'm with ColdChef on this - I can usually laugh pretty much anything off as being intended as a joke even if I don't get it, but something about this just seems icky.

Maybe we're just getting old.

Every once in a while the Mercury has an interesting story. But most of the time, yes, it's just stupid and unfunny. This article, in particular, they recycle every six months or so when they don't even have any of the horrible "ROLFLOL I GOT SO DRUNK LAST NIGHT LEMME TELL YOU GUYZ ABOUT IT" articles to run.

However, for your stripper, escort, and upcoming music events advertisement needs, they really can't be beat.
