Falling off the face of the earth [More:]Well, actually, I've been way too involved with the world to be around here much lately. Ever had a day that just sucked, that turned into a couple of days that turned into a couple of weeks that turned into a couple of months? Yeah, like that.

Notes from the frontier, not necessarily in order, but not necessarily in chaos either: a dear friend committed suicide, I went into the deepest depression I've experienced in 10 years, a family friend died of natural causes, I got deeply involved in a mayoral race and my candidate lost by a margin of nearly 5:1, a band that once played in my back yard got signed to a big label, I'm still doing taxes, I still haven't mailed my MeFi CD swap CD's out and I think I'm the only one, I owe many people many e-mails, a dog near death was rescued, a ceiling caved in, I was attacked by a 74 year old woman swinging a 2x4 at me--but she missed ha ha hee hee, vandalism abounds, bluebonnets were not here nearly long enough.

So, yeah, I miss the 'chat and the bunnies and the IRC and the DJ'ing. Hopefully one day soon I'll be able to use my computer for its intended purpose: fucking off. Sigh.
Wolfdaddy! I miss you. I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend and your family friend.

I would love to hear more about the 74 year old woman...

Oh, and did the cave-in have anything to do with ceiling cat?

Wolfdaddy! I wondered what happened to you!

*Copys all of these into Word, thinking that I have struck excuse gold!*

Gosh. Life has thrown a lot AT you lately. . .you need to tell us about the old woman with the 2x4 though.

Take care. We'll leave a light on for you here.

So, like, what's the problem, dude?

Doesn't sound like you fell off the face of the earth. Sounds like you were pushed. Hope things are looking up for you soon, WolfDaddy.

WolfDaddy!

I'm sorry for your recent losses. May I point out that you've been in our thoughts recently:

I am not Shane or Wolfdaddy, who I count among the sweetest.

It's a little weird of a read after the fact, but our usernames were obscured the day that thread was made.

Yikes WolfDaddy, sounds bumpy. And not the good kind of bumpy. Although some of the good kind of bumpy may have occured somewhere in all of that. You are missed.

Wolfdaddy, I like you a hell of a lot and you're one of my most favorite people here. I've missed you and I'm glad to see that you've still got your sense of humor after all you've been through. I send you much whuffles and a box full of Cabana Boy action figures that need stress testing.

Wolf Spritzer!

Man, that's a truckload, with or without Crazy 2x4 Lady. Be lucky you didn't encounter Crazy Iron Pipe Redneck.

But take the time you need to keep it together, and know everyone here is thinking about you and are happy you're well throughout this trial.

We'll see you soon.

I have recently disappeared as well, WD, though I knew it was coming. Sorry for all your trouble, and ditto everything tilda said.

Thirding what 'tilda said. We're missing you. Take good care of yourself.

And fourthing matildaben, seconding elizard and well, you get the point. Hugs hon, I've been going mano a mano, or, well lexapro a mano, with the depression demons myself this spring. Big fun! Madcap times! And it will be getting better soon, because it must.

Enh, the 2x4 incident was really nothing...this lady that owns a condo a couple of units down from mine had stolen a park bench that my mom had put out to brighten the grounds outside and was "repairing" it. In one of my tenant's parking spaces. Said tenant parked in another tenant's parking space and caused a domino-effect parking nightmare. When I asked her to move her stuff she just stared at me slack-jawed. When I realized it was one of my mom's benches, I picked it up and carried it over to put it back where it belonged. In the process of straightening up from that, I hear a weak "whoosh" sound and so I(thanks Fight Night Round 3!) stayed ducked and plucked the 2x4 from her hands. She immediately said she was going to call the cops. *rolls eyes* whatever, crazy lady who no one, not even animals, likes. It was kind of funny, really. But it's indicative of what kind of strange times I have been having since about mid-March or so. WHEEEEEEEEEE!

Good to be back in here even temporarily, and thanks for everyone's kind words. I miss my bunnyfriends vewy vewy much. *sniffles*

PS: please make sure Cabana Boy keeps the room of ORDER and DISCIPLINE, well, orderly and disciplined. He tends to "forget" his duties unless someone "reminds" him about it. CONFIDENTIAL TO CABANA BOY: did you put in a PTO request? Is this an authorized absence?

PPS: Iconomy, ceiling cat had nothing to do with it. However, evidence suggests squirrel and/or opossum activity.

PPSS: m'ben those Cabana Boy dolls have been received and been stress-tested thorougly already. Advise that we replace current "velcro" type clothing fasteners with easier-to-pull-off-with-teeth drawstrings. Also may have to request actual Cabana Boy to ensure dolls are 100% anatomically correct. Other design notes to follow.

PPPSS: safetyfork, how sweet of you to say that, even with munged name craziness :-)

PPSSS: jonmc, I don't think you exist :-P

P8S69: everyone else, I have to run, but I whuffle you all very much.

Sorry you've had such hard times lately, Who's-your-Daddy.

Here's hoping everything clears up, and that you've got nothing but smooth sailing ahead.

Oh, and they're not dolls; they're ACTION FIGURES.

I dunno, CB. m'ben sent me 200 prototypes and they didn't last very long. Legal advises adding banana hammock of +10 stamina (see you're wearing the latest prototype) before we can safely label these products as "action figures". In fact, Legal advises +20 stamina before releasing to females of any demographic grouping, but I think they're just being over-cautious. Planned obsolescence creates greater demand.
