What does the colloquialism "You're too much" mean? in the context of:

A: *issues B a compliment*
B: Awwww, you're too much!
Could it be a way of saying "you're too [something] to describe." As in, that puppy is too cute for words.

I think in that context it would be "You're too kind/nice/flattering". Incidentally, "You're too much" should always be met with a response of "and you're too little", especially when talking to short people.

Thanks guys. So I should take it positively. ;-)

I would take that as modesty, as in: "you're too much to be believed."

To me, it's definitely a modest way to accept a compliment. It means, "oh I'm not that good looking/nice/whatever... the reason we're having this conversation is that you're too kind and generous in your compliments. It's a good thing.
