Moonbird and mygothlaundry say 'ahoy mateys' from lovely West Asheville. So, where y'at?→[More:]This thread is a bump of previous Asheville mega-meetup discussion. We picked July 22d as the first choice, and the next 2 weekends as followups. Your thoughts?

* July 21-23

Alternates:
* July 28-30
* August 4-6

Everyone who wants to go, please update the "dates" column for your name to indicate which of those weekends work for you.

Oooh, sad. Of all possible meetups, this one is the one it will pain me most to miss. Really a lot. But I doubt I can make it happen -- my only real travel flexibility isn't until fall.

* from the back terrace of the Westville Pub
* where we had a great dinner & several beers
* and then adjourned to a blanket in the back parking lot
* where we watched Time Bandits projected onto a big sheet that, since this is Asheville, looked
* like organic undyed linen
* and it was awesome.

I'm just happy a date is under discussion. I'm pretty any of those date are good with me. After consulting my date book (aka wifey dear) tomorrow, I'll confirm that statement.

For me, the saddest thing about all these wonderful "travelling" meetups is that my summer time off is already booked solid. Totally solid. I maxxed out the vacation days and all that. I won't be able to make Vegas, or this meet-up (and Asheville is gigantically, megatastically, campulously appealling; i.e. has outdoor activities); however July 22-* is my birthday weekend, so if y'all are gonna meet then, raise a glass for me.

The upswing of this summer being booked solid for me already is that I'll be going to Italy and France in July, and going on a small east coast mini-tour with the band in August.
