Can you play The Band?

Nah, don't usually do requests, 'specially not for hecklers. Besides it's against the broadcast rules.

Cryptical, it's probably time for you to get off the keyboard.

It was short notice. I just hopped in IRC and noticed no one was DJing.

After I get my move done and sorted and my broadband transfered and activated I still want to try broadcasting either A) a partially mixed set that still adheres to MeCha Radio's broadcast rules, B) a real broadcast radio style set with back announcing and all that joojooswut, or C) an actual live all mixed set, but probably on a different, less restrictive shoutcast server.

When I do this I'll try to reserve a time and give plenty of advanced notice.

I've been trying to get Traktor running on my machine. I feel like that will cut it. Alas, it doesn't seem to want to run. I'll let you know if i get anywheres.
Haven't looked into it, but i wonder if Ableton Live has a broadcast feature...hmmm.

What version of Traktor are you using? I haven't used 3.0 yet, but I'm a mad wizard with that prog. You can do all kinds of crazy stuff in Traktor. I don't use any of the beat grids or pre-programmed anything with it, though, I just use it like a semi-traditional DJ rig on crack.

I've been using since beta, though, and had to teach myself to mix without a cue channel, just eyeballing the volume meters for beat matching/counting, 'cause I didn't have multi channel audio for a long time. (This cheesy set was mixed live without a cue channel or any post editing or anything.)

Live is much more performance based, but it's not really linear DJing in the same sense that Traktor is.

My plan is to run Traktor on one machine and patch it to another that does the winamp/ahoutcast broadcasting to offload some of the processing.
