number one: the larch

i've never been to jack in the box. i hear they poison the meat and it's evil.

No, they just killed some of their customers in the Pacific Northwest with E. Coli in '93. After that, in order to save the company, they had to institute the toughest food safety program in the business (and how high a standard would that have to be?), make a practice of seriously overcooking their meat and use the 'return of Jack' as a way of saying 'under new management'. Over the last ten years, Jack's commercials have been some of the funniest on TV, at their best when he's kinda creepy (kidnapping an old Italian lady baker for her ciabatta bread recipe, trading stories of jet set excess with George Hamilton, sponsoring a boy band called the Meaty Cheesy Boys, and the 'celebrity poker' spot - when he cleaned out Gary Coleman on a bluff, Coleman cried out "I borrowed that money!").

However, I really did work at a Jack in the Box when I was a college student a million years ago, and I learned that the filling in Jack's 2-for-99-cent tacos is not any kind of meat YOU'VE ever heard of.

That map is awesome eth. The "NW" and "extinct volcano" both made me lol. The island is shaped like a bunny head.
