Let's do it again (+1) : Radio 1976 at 9 PM Eastern tonight! →[More:]Another 2-something hour set featuring the top 40 pop songs of 1976 (which, admittedly are a bit better than the top 40 from 1975).

Let's max out all 10 Radio Mecha streams again tonight, let's talk about dragon cock in IRC, all that good shit, shall we? I had fun last night and hope y'all that were there did too. Even yhbc.

The 1975 set definately blew some of the surviving parts of my mind, because I wasn't just listening to these moldy not-yet-oldies, I was playing them as a student DJ. I actually was one of the founders of a college station at an unnamed campus (which I soon after fled to get my degree elsewhere), and the very first free promotional copy of a record we got from a record company was Manilow's "Mandy". Aaaaarrrggghhh.

I even recalled some of my DJ banter...
"John Denver... Thank God he's a Country Boy, and thank God he's not living next door to me!"
"Why Can't We Be Friends? Stop declaring War all the time and I might consider it!"

Yep, this is gonna be the year of "Afternoon Delight" (with which I would reference the L.A. fried chicken chain "Chicken Delight"), "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" (Jump out the window, Wendell.... oooh, pathetic semi-rhyme), and "I Write the Songs that make the young girls cry... Bad Barry, Bad Boy! Now go sit in the corner 'til you can come up with a happy one..."
