Ask Mecha In what song does Neil Young disparage Alabama?
Southern Man.

(At least, that's what lead to the famous retort from Lynyrd Skynyrd in Sweet Home Alabama; Southern Man doesn't specifically refer to Alabama, though)

Yeah, duh. I completely forgot about Southern Man. And of course the question was from the Skynyrd song.

Yeah, duh.

A Jewish man wouldn't understand anyhow.

I recommend the Drive By Truckers' song "Ronnie & Neil" if you're interested in another take on the Skynyrd vs. Young thing... apparently it was a good-natured "feud."

I'm pretty sure the Skynyrd were responding to Alabama as well as Southern Man...

Wasn't there a brouhaha about the Skynyrd answer song being a bit crypto-racist too?
