Ha Ha Ha America. I'm askeered and entranced and entertained.
Also VideoSift kicks butt, but you knew that.
I wish people understood macroeconomics.

I didn't know about VideoSift, but this is awesome.

Yeah, it was amusing other than the implicit claim that reducing or restricting trade with China would make our lives better, not worse.

"Oh, we're going to get poor because we're not making anything!" Well, what does Switzerland manufacture? The cuckoo clock? And they're hurting real bad.

I don't think there's any doubt that China will eventually be the world's "hyperpower", displacing the US. That doesn't bother me in the least—especially since the last five years which have demonstrated to me that we don't deserve to be the world's hyperpower. I find the gloating in that video funny and appropriate.

it's true...we do suck ass...the cheney/shoe guy part was esp. true.

the Swiss have a monopoly on certain types of banking. what do we have? the Swiss have proven that they're responsible stewards of wealth and keep their mouths shut. what are we responsible and quiet at? the Swiss have always negotiated their way to safety and security. we bomb our way. ...

I checked some of the statistical claims, and found them wanting. I think there's a point here, but it's way exaggerated. It is funny.

China will no doubt be an economic power, but "hyperpower" really means a lot more than that. What will be interesting to see is if a non-democratic country can gain the long-term trust of democratic countries (questionable) and whether a country without a global military presence can maintain its trade relationships, in the coming century.
