One of my readers made up a dance for me, called the New Boy dance. You shaaaaaaaaaaaake your booty, shaaaaaaaaaaake your booty.

left arm behind back
right hand over brow as if sheilding from sun
left foot in the air, then looooooooook out to sea all the way to the left,
switch everything around (left hand over eyes, right hand behind back, right foot in air)

The Tiny dance!

*tippy toes close together, makes tiny hops*
*hands in bunny (or squirrel) position, fingers make little talky motion*
*shoulders slightly hunched*
*every once in a while, stops hopping, gives butt tiny shake*

I dance purty good in general. But my named dance is The Molly Ringwald. Move just like her, back in the day. Feet, hop kick - one arm swing - c'mon people you know what I'm talking about.

Yes Specklet! Rawk on! As a half-assed choreographer, I've broken down several dances from movies, with the intention that the improv guys (who I used to work with, although I now think Improv is The New Mime) would be funny doing them. Which they were. We did Dirty Dancing (I did Penny), we did Footloose ( I did the heavy set short chick who twirls around with abandon, etc.)

Now I have some hip-hop moves thanks to Gay Brad, former chorus boy on the last Nat'l tour of . . ..
OKLAHOMA!

That's a whole nother story.

The Molly Ringwald was how we actually danced in the 80s. All the music was very hop-hop-hoppy. Stand in a circle with your girls, hop, swing arms. Sometimes it would vary because the black t-shirt boys would do a combined Pogo thing with it for the edgier tunes.

Thanks, Specklet! I love how that dude in the video backs away, holding on to the bar behind him like a man on a sinking ship, sweating, terror in his eyes.

He'd have to be insane to back away from you, though.
