The MetaChat physical CD swap is open for business Signups are until next Wednesday. And please let me know via e-mail if you're interested in being in more than one swapset, in case we have swapsets with less than five people in them.

Yay!!! Hopefully I'll have better luck with the MeCha swap than I did the MeFi swap. I noticed the form has the MeFi Swap logo and when I signed up I got the "You are now signed up for the Metafilter swap" message. This is just MeChas, right?

I too prefer the onlineness(I'm just going to rip the mix and archive the CD anyway), but I understand the woes of dialup as well. I can always upload my mix-CD if there are those who would prefer it.

I'm not real particular about format, although I will have to draw a line at 8-tracks or reel-to-reel. CD or online is preferable, but I'm definiely OK with a mixtape.

If there's anyone who would prefer a tape, that would make me really happy. Recording to tape is a lot more fun than burning a CD. It's a longer process, yes, but there's just something about it... it's tactile, I think. It feels more like I'm actually making something, rather than just moving around files on the computer.

Anyway, I started out to say that there should be a way to accomodate those who want different formats, surely.
