First Impressions of New Server The "Recent Comments" page is so much faster! It looks good here on the new server. Thanks, dodgy!
It's got a nice rack.

It's quite snappy!

Having trouble loading the January archives, though. It loads up to about January 11th and then:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 15 bytes) in /web/metachat/blogs/skins/light/_feedback.php on line 356

I've put in an upper limit on page sizes to prevent denial of service attacks and clearly that's had an impact there. That stupid page should be paiginated anyway so I guess it calls for a rewrite.

I'm having trouble with the rss. In particular, it's not working on lj for me. I didn't even know the server was back up until I accidentally came here instead of going to MeFi by not looking where I typed. But when I click the RSS links here, I have no problems.

Actually I'm talking crap, it's clearly a php config problem. Having said that I'm still disinclined to change the config as the problem is with the page design not php. So unless people see this problem coming up elsewhere I'll leave it broken for the short-term.

As for the feed problem - well I'm totally baffled. The RSS2 feed lj is using looks fine to me. Can anyone else see what's going wrong here?

I know e-mails don't work and so I'll spend this weekend looking at it (I get to read lots of yummy Exim docs - delicious!).

Anything else to report?

Here's the 411 from LiveJournal support:
There are a number of feed validators available that can check the feed, and highlight errors that exist. In particular, though, note that there is non-RSS information (HTML tags and text) after the closing tag, wich is causing the feed to not be valid.

Hence me not being able to get my MeCha aggregated. I'll e-mail this to you in case you don't get comments e-mailed.
