Who are the people in the pretty photos? I saw the mefi>IRL list, I just don't know who's who.

Hmm... Did I mention there was beer involved? That's Cali, Eris and Kirkaracha with most of the shoutouts. Occhiblu is in there too, but since she's a MeCha regular, I'll leave it to her to point herself out.

The guy with the iPaq is named Mike, I think. An innocent who got roped into attending. He arrived with Purplefiber, seen playing darts, who is mostly an AxeMe reader. I was telling Purplefiber about MeCha, so hopefully she'll wander over here soon.

I don't know which name I love more: Whoreshoes or Jewgrass Boys.

I am the one looking suspiciously cross-eyed while attempting to throw darts (which I learned I do *really* *badly*) and sending the shout out to Ikkyu2.

And I'm not enough of a tech geek to know what an iPaq is, but I think the guy Triode's talking about is named Sam. He was my darts partner until I gave up and turned it over to Eris.

(Also, Triode, the more I thought about it, the more I thought that maybe we had met before. Definitely not in SF, though -- do I know you from Boston someplace?)

Just as a competetive kinda thing - what's a good place to host pictures (of Vancouver's Meta/Mecha meet this following week)?

I've previously just had someone with a business account throw them all (from various people) on their server...

Occhiblu - Boston from 02 to 04, SF for 5 years before that, Pioneer Valley / 5 Colleges from 1994 to 97ish and Portland, OR, beginning in '91. Any overlaps?

Hrrrm... Boston 94-98 and 2000-2004, working for an educational travel company downtown for that last bit, good friend named Corey from Harvard who grew up in Portland OR and still has a lot of friends there (I swear, Corey is still my main social node...), um.... anything clicking? I did a lot of salsa and swing dancing in Boston & Cambridge; would that be the connection?

Wonderful photos! Because of all the beautiful shots we get of your meetups, I tend to mentally see all the SF members wrapped in a soft, caressing amber glow. Did I say "amber glow"? Did I? Amberglow, maybe you need to move to SF.
