And, uh, LCD Soundsystem.

So at least I have some bands to cheer for.

Yeah, I know the Grammys are kind of irrelevant.

Re: Funeral. I mean in the Best Alternative Albums section. I skimmed the rest, which seems to be the predictable wasteland of Mariah Carey and Coldplay and stuff.

Isn't Funeral from 2004? It was #1 on my Best of 2004 list.

One would think, as it was on everyone's Best Of list that year-- the eligibility range is October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005.

Arcade Fire got another nomination for "Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media", too, for their song from the Six Feet Under soundtrack. And Nigel Godrich got another nomination this year (for the Paul McCartney album).

The Grammy's are so pointless. Actually, that isn't true. A few years ago, I was randomly flipping through channels and they were on. I hung out for a few minutes. Prince and Beyonce did a performance. I had heard of Beyonce before but I didn't pay much attention. But seeing her with Prince, I fell in love. So I thank the Grammy's for that. Otherwise, pointless.

My Best of 2005 is stuff that was released years back that I'm just discovering.

I refuse to take the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame seriously until Rush are inducted.

Plans?! PLANS?! I love Death Cab, but that album f'ing sucks.

Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem deserve the nod, though. Even if Funeral was from 2004. :)
