Perhaps our British cousins would care to explain "fanny." Here in the USofA, fanny = ass. It means something else over the water.

(I first learned this from a BBC producer who I steered to Kalispell, MT as the "wackiest right-wing loonybin" in the nation. She totally cracked up over "fanny packs.")

Fanny is universal, my friend.

I seem to recall watching the Wimbledon coverage one year and John McEnroe said something like "she got hit in the fanny".

"Errr, John you might want to clarify what you mean by that"

While Betty Crocker makes a nice cookbook, I personally prefer the recipes of Fanny Farmer.

Okay, I mispelled it to fit the joke; sue me. Fanny Farmer, bwaaaaaa!

Fanny packs should be illegal.

Fanny definitely means something else in Britain. In the US, just our rear end. There, something a...bit more personal.

OTOH, if you are here and need to erase something, it's an eraser not a rubber. Trust me on this.

I think a euphemistic way of saying it would be "front bottom"
Also, on the topic of Fannys in the kitchen, see here.

Also,
"She took her fags out of her fanny pack" sounds deeply wrong wrong, whatever country you come from.

heh.
