Somehow I doubt anyone would pay that for any of the carnival glass I have picked up at garage sales.
I have never understood the attraction to carnival glass. It looks like those oil blobs they used to play in movie theatres before the movie starts.
There are some crazy people out there.
(I still make grilled cheese sandwiches, hoping to have an image of Jesus on one. I think I'm getting close--I could swear I saw St. Peter the other day.)
I went Christmas shipping again tonight and while out I spent about an hour at Barnes & Nobles. Looked through the gardening books briefly and then sat on the floor and thumbed through several books on depression-era glass, carnival glass, and milk glass. Learned a few things and decided to buy a few books - but not there, I can get all of them cheaper on Amazon.
i was hanging out with the rents over halloween weekend, and we went down and had tea (british. i know.) with the rev, and he and rev #2 showed us something they just found in the closet of the rev's office: about 100 michael jordan coloring books. signed by michael jordan. c. about 1993 or something like that.
booya lots of money for christ episcopal church, i guess.
hmm...greensboro. Makes me wonder why it wasn't taken to Replacements, or if it was, what value it was given.
Replacements was an interesting place - very gay friendly, you can bring your dog in with you, flex time, there was a happy vibe there. The place is like a museum! They show 2% of their inventory in their showroom, which ranges from art nouveau to the gaudiest floral crap you've ever seen in your life. the guy who toured us through the warehouse part wore a tie dyed shirt, overalls rolled up to show white socks and black shoes, and he was terribly excited about the new Fiestaware colors!!
