Stephen King, dead at 58 →[More:]I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Horror/Sci Fi writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Metafilter community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

I'm so gullible, I had to check google news. Apparently some woman is suing him (I would have linked to a real news article but they were all subscription-only), claiming she was the inspiration for crazy Annie Wilkes in Misery. Why would someone admit to that?
