Thinking about jonmc and pips Y'all are going through a lot and just wanting you to know that I am sending good vibes.
Thanks, mightshould, and everyone sending good wishes. He's still in the hospital, I'm afraid, ten days now. He has improved, though. Still has some pneumonia, and the doctors are wary of the mild sepsis as well. Still has swelling in his legs and feet. But shortness of breath seems a lot better, thank goodness. I hope he can come home soon. He's understandably restless, and I miss him so.

I thought of you guys when all of this started up.

I hope Jon is getting better.

Sorry I haven't updated. Wish I had better news. They transferred him to another hospital for a heart procedure called an ablation to help his Afib. That was a week ago. He was supposed to come home the next day. Instead he ended up on a ventilator, in Cardiac ICU. He was off for a day last Thursday, but with all the sedation, he has delirium (he couldn't open his eyes or talk and kept pulling against his restraints). Next day he was sedated and back on the ventilator from too much CO2 in his blood. They're doing more tests on his heart today, and they'll keep trying to wean him off the ventilator. His older sister's husband is a doctor (in Maine) and is reviewing his records and speaking with his doctors. I appreciate his council. What a nightmare. My poor booie. I'm so lost without him.

Oh pips, no! I am so sorry to hear that. Please get well soon, Jon!

Oh no, that's rotten. I am so sorry. Good thing you've got a doctor relative who can advocate; that takes a little pressure off you. Hoping you're able to take care of yourself through all the stress.

Pips I am so sorry this is dragging on. It gets exhausting. Please reach out to people when you need to. As JanetLand said it is good to hear you have someone who can advocate for Jon and take some of the work off you.

Let Jon know that there are people far away who are thinking about him.

Oh pips. this is so rough. For both of you. Thinking of you both.

Doubling up on the good vibes beaming your way.

And take time to look after yourself. Take a long hot shower, eat a fresh meal full of veggies, get some sleep.

Update: Cautiously optimistic. He's off the ventilator since yesterday morning and starting to come out of the sedation. Still agitated (less today than yesterday), confused, and unable to talk though. He doesn't know me yet. But the MRI was negative, and the neurologist said it could take a few days. That much propofol for that long (11 days), she said, is like drinking 16 shots of whiskey. Scaared to hope, but hoping. His parents are flying into Tampa tonight. We'll go see him together tomorrow (Sunday).

Thanks for the update. Will continue to keep you both in my thoughts. *fingers crossed*

Yes, thanks for the news, hoping for even better news soon. Jon will no doubt be pleased to know he's had 16 shots of whiskey.

My poor honeypie (jonmc) is in the hospital. || When words say where and when you're from.
