The 1983 Movie stared David Bowie, Tom Conti, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Takeshi Kitano. The film is based on Sir Laurens van der Post's time as a POW in World War II as shown in the books The Seed and the Sower and The Night of the New Moon. The movie is about masculinity and codes of manly behavior and codes of war. The conclusion seems to be, it's all bullshit.
