I've had that song on my iPod for ages.

Someone else said it and it really rang true for me. This celeb death feels more personal than most. John just seemed so every person. Like a friend you may not see that often but still important to you.

Read about this last night. Years ago I posted a video here of Leslie Spit Treeo's cover of John Prine's Angel From Montgomery. I held a reflector during the section shot in a store door front. That store was a pizza place that was owned by the grandmother of my friend in hospice care. She died a few hours ago.

Circles and lines and you could make something of it all but it's just the randomness of life.

I am going out for a walk in the lovely sunshine.

I was so very sad to hear this news today. My favourite song of his is Sam Stone. He wrote it 50 years ago yet it could have been written last year about any of the drug-ravaged communities in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania ... It's the most heartbreaking song I've ever heard.
