I know a guy who used to work at a large chain restaurant (rhymes with Bees Take Rectory) and he constantly talked about people coming in, ordering a ton of stuff, eating it all save for a bite or two, then refusing to pay for it because they didn't like it. Management would usually let them skate, wanting to avoid a noisy confrontation of any sort. Of course, the servers would get stiffed, as well. It was apparently a very regular thing.
