Houses that burned. I posted a bit ago about how 6 houses burned down just around the corner and across the street. →[More:] Today they started hauling everything away. At lunchtime the guy running the big backhoe thing got out to eat his lunch.

He sat at the top of a pile of debris. He was wearing a blue jacket, black pants, and a big red safety helmet. He looked like a gnome.

Not your run of the mill garden gnome but the much rarer urban debris gnome. I wanted to get a picture but that seemed a bit too invasive. It was fun though.

Heh. Never miss an opportunity to find absurdity in life. It keeps it interesting! I love it when my brain jumps to odd connections like that.

Last weekend at work we were looking at the new cardboard baler that was just installed. Nobody had shown us how it worked so we were trying to figure it out.

My brain came up with the thought that we were like a bunch of monkeys looking at a screen door: it was obviously transparent but we couldn't quite figure it out. (I didn't voice that since one of us monkeys was a boss.)
