Remember that dress? Was it blue and black or white and gold? Two years later science has an explanation. How you have seen things in the past affects the way you see things now.
Like the author I am an owl but I initially saw the dress as white and gold. Also like the author I assumed the dress was in shadow because the background was was overexposed.

Incandescent light is very yellow but over the years as compact florescent and now LED have become available I always buy the options with more blue light. So I am a night owl who prefers daylight.

I still see the dress wrong. I'm tired all the time. Does that make me a loaf?

It makes you wonder how we all see things. Like, I see that shirt as green. For all I know, you see it as red, but it's called green.

This is probably the best piece I've read on this, but still, I'm an owl and I was Team White & Gold. The jacket in the quiz looked to me like olive green with yellow decals.

It seems also that it depends on the color calibration of the computer monitor.
