Assateague Island. I go for the camping with wild ponies around my tent; the wildlife; the peace. And through it, I've met some wonderful people who showed me sides of the island I had no idea existed: abandoned houses; abandoned hunting lodges; and just how large the island actually is. What started as my solo trips is now evolving into group get togethers, and I am looking forward to getting back as soon as I can.
The same thing I've been obsessing about since last fall, HAMILTON! I am waiting for my copy of Hamilton: The Revolution. I don't know when it's going to get here. I am also finally getting around to reading the Ron Chernow book, which is kind of cool, now that I am so familiar with the story.
I also have been mildly obsessing over hawks (we have nests of red tails in my neighborhood) after reading H is for Hawk, which is a tremendous read. It is easily the best book I've read so far this year.
We've been put on a list to adopt from a Corgi rescue, so I squee over videos of their little butts nearly every day.
Lastly, I am obsessing about Iceland, we leave in a few weeks.
I'm working on an outdoor kitty enclosure made out of mostly free stuff. I have free time since my main work has dried up (so I'm trying to find some other way to pay bills) and the project helps me relieve stress.
I recently got back from a couple of weeks in Montreal, and at the moment I'm mercifully obsession-free. Just hoping California gets a little more rain before spring slides away.
