Eaglets! Eaglets! One of the two eggs in the live eagle nest cam in D.C. has hatched, and total cuteness has ensued! Oh, grey fuzzy wuzzy little thing (not so little-- how'd he ever fit in that egg?), I could eat you up, num, num, num-- such cuteness, it is to die. Enjoy!
(oops, I was so proud I got the link to work, I forgot the 'more inside'-- it's the intoxicating effect of cuteness-- he can barely hold his head up! Squeeee! I wish there was sound--)

Oh, indeed! I just saw mama feeding them. Such a treat. The second little eaglet struggles to hold his head up to get fed, though. Older brother/sister keeps snatching the fish from mom's beak first! (I've seen that with hawks, too, but it all works out. The fish the eagles are eating, incidentally, looks a helluva lot yummier than the rats our albeit lovely nyc red hawks dine on.)

I now have the eagle nest in a small screen within the larger screen on my ipad to catch all the action. I'm officially obsessed. I need to show my mom-- she'd go nuts for it.

We got eaglets too! Pittsburgh's Hays Eagle has one hatched chick and one currently in the process of hatching. Love the main picture in this story.
