AskMeCha: How to add text below a photo? "I should know this but I don't" filter. I want to add a box containing text *below* a photo. All the caption tools I'm finding online are for putting captions *on* the photo itself. How would I go about creating the effect I want?
Whenever I've needed to do this (not often) I've done it in Word - inserted the image into a blank document, added the text below, then cropped round the whole thing and saved it as a separate .jpg.

Heh, I just did exactly that of my own accord! It felt very cobbled together but it looks presentable enough.

I loved L.M. Montgomery growing up. Anyway if you use an image editor (like Paint.net), usually there's an option to increase the canvas and an option to add text. So Word or Powerpoint is definitely the easier way to go.

IF you use "American Date Notation" (month/day/year) || The Jardin d’Agronomie Tropicale: A colonial human zoo that existed in Paris
