New people definitely looked at me differently after I acquired a rabbit, but it wasn't a huge change. More of a curiosity.
Maybe if the rabbit had destroyed my carpets and more of my apartment like his did...
And it is probably also stranger for a grown man to have a fuzzy bunny than it is for a young woman.
