I'm with you, Melismata! Some of the JCS music is really beautiful, but my word, what a boring, humorless show (so much Webber is like that! After dragging him to Phantom and Evita, I think stynxno is permanently done). I saw it on Broadway last summer- Josh Young has an amazing voice, but that was about all the show did for me.

I like root beer. I do not like licorice or spearmint (the proper natural flavorings for root beer). That is all. ;-P

I need to give Godspell another listen. I tolerate JCS because Ian Gillan sings it and I covet his voice. I still need to try Marmite (so dratted expensive when I do find it).

So agreed, TPS! I feel depressed after seeing JCS, and it brings back bad teenage memories of "if you're not into loud rock, you're not cool." (And count me out for Phantom, too, way too long and blah for my taste.)

I had Penn State roommate who was semi-obsessed with the Ian Gillan version of JCS and played it constantly. Not sure if I've heard it since then.
