This music video for Capital Cities' "Safe & Sound" is incredibly happy-making. 100 years of dancing awesomeness.
Great video, showing off so much different dancing goodness with very smart use of video trickery, but maybe a couple too many black-and-white-to-color transitions and filling the stage a little too early, muddling some of the standout performers. But those are minor quibbles.
Most likely, the video producers took a "too much is never enough" approach because the stupid song (a single refrain, 4 lines, under 40 words of lyrics) is so so so repetitive. At least it held off the audio torture of the tedious repetition for half the length of the clip.
Honestly, BoPo, I dunno what's wrong with me. That video only irritated me! I thought that song was insipid, and the video reminded me of the "fight" scenes in Transformer movies - so much going on that I can't focus on anything. I googled that band and google tells me they are an "indie pop duo"...that's what indie pop sounds like now? Evidently I'm not susceptible to "happy making" today :-(
/end grumpy old man
The thing is...normally, I really like your music taste and it's often outside of my taste, but really cool. I can't sort out how YOU can like this so much and I can be so grumpy with respect to it!
