Last night's Mad Men (spoilers)→[More:]As god is my witness, my exact words after the opening scene were "Oh my god, they killed Kenny! You bastards!"
I think it was good. I'm never quite sure what I just saw after viewing. I'm really unclear what the conversation between Pete and Bob was about. I couldn't tell if Pete was relating what he discovered about Bob to what he knows about Don, or if Pete was talking about himself in a way that hasn't been revealed.
The last couple of episodes have definitely had the feeling of setting-up the pins for next week's finale.
I wish I hadn't read this interview that explicitly said who was dying this season from Matt Weiner. I am too crippled by possible spoilers to say more, but that whole Pete Bob Don thing was hysterical on many levels.
I was just commenting on Vulture. This whole season has been CRACKING ME UP. Is it me or has it just been funnier this time around? Ted, Bob, Don & Alice. Too much to talk about.
I will really miss it after next week. It has been a delight to just watch with or without dissection.
And True Blood just looks to be all about the suck this year. Alan Ball, you are missed.
Arigato hey!
Do I bother while half in the bag? Do other people now painfully aware of how much info people have access to now add as much noise to signal?
Let me condense and paraphrase a bunch of Mad Men info from various horse's mouths: Lane's death sapped any imminent deaths from the roster, so all the crazy death speculating and foreboding is for naught, SO THEY SAY and we know THEY LIE. The whole reason Megan is wearing that shirt is to prove women did wear t-shirts then, so the Weiner said, use that exact t-shirt-- crap! People are totally dissecting the show! It's just a t-shirt! It's just a popular movie at the time, you goddamn dirty apes! No one is getting stabbed in the pregnant belly-- or will they?
I haven't read the T&L rungay speculation, but i have read a lot of summaries of the rest of the reviews. I'm hoping to make it into a Don/Ted/Peggy summary, as it's all i've had time to discourse upon; I so want to dish about this show. And it's almost over! I've been delighted all season long. More cats and bayonets! More Two Coffee Bensons!
I can't anymore with this show, thanks to Tom and Lorenzo. I keep yelling, "OMG BLUE AND GREEN! MEGAN IS WEARING RED!!!!" and "OMG KENNY NOOOOOO!" "OMG SALLY NOOOOOO!!!!" and assuming the trip to Miss Porter's means that Sally will die in a tragic manicure-kit incident.
