What do you skip when you're running late for work?
I almost ran out of the house this morning without giving Anubis his kibble to munch on during the day. (He wandered out of the bedroom and stared at me as I tried to find my keys and I remembered.)
Typically, if I'm running late, I'll skip bringing downstairs trash and/or recycling. (I live on the 3rd floor with only stairs and am laaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.)
I'm lucky that my start time is flexible so I don't need to skip anything. I'm usually in the office at least 90 minutes before everyone else in my team anyway.
When I was working, I rarely did more at home before work than get dressed. Everything else, I either did the night before (shower, shave) or once I got to work (coffee).
Bunny time - he has to be fed, but normally I hang out with him a bit and let him run around before work.
Cleaning/picking up - laundry, emptying the dishwasher, etc.
Changing the bird's food/water - I'll do it at night if needed. (she has multiple bowls, so there is always some available to her, it's just a matter of if it's in the preferred location or not.)
Taking out trash or recycling.
Normally, I'm very lucky - I get up about 2 hours before I have to leave, and my partner normally wakes me up if I'm running late in enough time for me to still be fine.
Looking at your lists confirms that I'm a secret slob.
Things I never do anyway:
Decent breakfast
Makeup
Jewelry
Making bed
Things I do on the weekend and only when it's warm out:
Shaving legs
Which leaves the things I skip:
Brushing teeth (This got to the point that I brought a toothbrush and toothpaste to work with me. Interestingly, if people catch you they'll think that you're brushing after your breakfast and therefore extremely hygienic.)
I basically get out of bed, shower/shave, get dressed and go anyway, so there's not much to miss out. I have a coffee while doing the above, so that doesn't take any time. I'm usually still half-asleep when I drive out the driveway and have breakfast at work already. Plus, I can't really be late because I have no start time. Except this morning, when I forgot to re-set my alarm after having to get up at 3:30 the morning before, so turned it off and went back to sleep, making me 30 minutes late for an 8:00 meeting. That I arranged and that others came to work early for -(
I rarely have meetings or anything like that, so if I am running late I just call in and say I'll be late. I am constitutionally unable to leave the house without making the bed.
