One hit wonders of the past decade. How many have you heard?[More:]

2000 "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
2001
2002 "Days Go By"
2003 "Stacy's Mom" (kinda. I know I've heard of it but not sure I heard it before now)
2004 "The Reason"
2005
2006 "Chasing Cars" (seems like a wretched year for popular music.)
2007
2008
2009 "Jai Ho! (You are My Destiny)"

5 or 6 for me. Not much of a commercial radio listener.
Who Let the Dogs Out? That's it. And I'm just fine with that.

I knew fewer than I expected, which is odd as I listened to a lot of top 40 radio in the 2000s (my entertainment choice over tv). I also had to listen to a good number of them to get a yea or nay since I didn't generally pay attention to titles/artists.

I enjoyed so many of the great One Hit Wonders prior to 2000 ("In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, "Thunder Island" by Jay Ferguson, "Right on Track" by Breakfast Club, "I Eat Cannibals" by Toto Coelo, "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals all come off the top of my head) but "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" was just about the last that I actually enjoyed listening to... but I could say that I haven't enjoyed much Post-2000 pop music. Is there a trigger that goes off in your head at a certain age? Mine must've hit at 45. I still hold out hope that Gotye has another hit on the Billboard charts (I was the first to post about him in Metafilter, mentioning his big hit FIFTH.), but then, I'm still waiting for Mungo Jerry's big follow-up.

So that's six. I kind of stopped with Top 40 pop more or less in 2000 and just picked it up again this past summer, so I hope to do better on the next decade's list.

Maybe four? Any more and I certainly don't know them by name. I first time I've heard top 40 in over a decade was last year.
