Ask The Whelk Anything At The Airport! Dublin to Paris To NYC, we arrived very, very early.....
Do you wish you'd stayed there longer? What items are you buying at the airport because it's your last chance to get them?

Umm, kinda wish I got to know more people, it's awkward travelling someplace where you don't know anyone so you just hang out on tourist lines and the like, I'm not the " just relax" kind of traveller, I make detailed routes and plans and counter plans and counter counter plans. Don't do that if I'm staying with people but going on a standard tourism trip? I make more plans than a battlefront.

For the airport? Not buying much, I have no need for perfume, but I don't think there's any booze in the house when I get home so I might hit up duty free for a nicer than usual bottle of something.

As for souvineers, I make lists of peole, then research what shops and places along my routes would be best for finding the thing I think they'd like. Like I said, I am a very * structured * traveller.

Have you seen the TV series, The Trip?

Yes I have! Actually while on a plane ride in England

I like both of the actors a lot but it felt a little indulgent, there's low key and referential and kitchen sink realism and then there's just watching someone on a boring holiday.

Although there is something to be said for dramatizing the exact moment when you've seen enough quaint medical churchs to last a lifetime, thank you.

Yeah, I totally see what you mean about it courting indulgence and flirting with dull, but I was too taken with the characters' rapport, and the stunning routes Steve Coogan's character so thoughtfully laid out every episode, to count them drawbacks.

I personally loved the inert aspects of it. The lack of dramatic antagonists sort of reminded me of a Bill Forsythe movie. Have you seen Local Hero?

How can I too have an exotic globetrotting lifestyle?

So long as you find the jade monkey before the next full moon

( I mostly just tag along for the SO's many business trips cause I work from home and can do things like take a week off at a moment's notice, usually)

Are you still at the airport? And, if so, why?

Wow, I've never seen a medical church! Photos, please.

I wanna see a medical church, but I bet it's nothing like that I'm imagining. I may have a new sci fi comic book project.

What is your booze of choice these days and what is your idea of a swanky cocktail? I'd like to make that a general question to any and all.

What is your most recent, most satisfying comic read? Movie? Fiction? Music? Foodstuff?

What question do you long to be asked that no one has ever asked?

Jet lag be damned!

Local Hero is my all time most very favorite movie ever.

Also, safe travels, Whelky.

I have not seen local hero!

I am home now, finally. Not in the airport. Medical should have sad mediveal bt you who I thought that huge very church line building in Cirk WAS a church batik someone pointed out it was a hospital.

My booze of choice right now is rye, a fancy cocktail would probibly be something like a Grandfather, all layered mulling flavors.

" how often do you self google?"

One a month at least.
