Boosting some meetup signals So, there are two awesome NYC-area meetups going on this weekend, and due to scheduling, I've decided that the one on Sunday is going to be my last NYC-area meetup before I move. →[More:]

The current line-up of folks going is a combo of people I've already met and some I haven't, and I know I'm going to miss all of you already. But it would be really, really, really awesome if some more of you could show.

On the other end of the move is the "I hope you like me" meetup; if there are any Minneapolis-ians who haven't yet chimed into that thread, please do because I'd love to know that I already have friends there.

If I can freak out for just a bit, every time I think about the fact that I'm moving to a city where the two people I know who live there are people I know from the Internet (webcomics, specifically) and one has a wife and baby and the other is in grad school and may not have time to hang out—and neither of would probably go wedding venue hunting or dress shopping with me—makes me sad and teary. This is the biggest move I've made since I left California in 2003, and even though I'm not doing it alone, I still feel like I will be alone when I get there.

Anyway, I hope to see you either here in NYC or over there in Minnesota!

I'm going to be so loopy cause I will have literally just got home from Ireland but I am going to make it and bring ham and be loopy with my Internet buddies.

Senyar: However, if Diane can be persuaded, I can be a part of your holidays when you do the Midwestern portion, right? I will really, really miss being able to catch up with you during our dinners.

Aww, big move! Really freaking big move. Have you had long to process it?
As a Fieri-ist who cannot possibly go out of state for the near future, but knows a lot about drastic moves, big changes, and distant friends, feel free to email me.
Unless you are the kind of person who always needs company, don't worry so much about being alone, because you are going to be busy setting up your new life for a while, which means interacting with a bunch of people and checking out the lay of the land.
Last things I heard about Minneapolis were pretty promising.

Trisha, you're going to be nearly twice as far away from Diane's place in Ohio when you're in Minneapolis, MN than you'd be in Brooklyn!
