I would LOVE to have a pet raccoon. Possibly hindrances to this are that (a) raccoons are not indigenous to the UK so I don't know where I'd get one and (b) Lucy would gang up with the raccoon and they would kill me in my sleep.
We had a pet raccoon when I was about ten. He was a very smart little critter and loved learning tricks. His favorite game was going through the ball return lanes in the pool table.

I've always wanted a raccoon. So smart. It is true that like ferrets (also scary smart) they are also very prone to mischief. Note the evil gleam in Grace's raccoon's eye.
