Hump day 3 point update! [More:]
1. I am almost finished with the lasagna soup that I made on Sunday. Worked out perfectly to have delicious lunches to take to work. And now that I have tested the awesomeness of crockpot liners--I plan on using it more often. Possibly to make some Cafe Rio-style pork this weekend. Nom.

2. Last week, I went to Spa World in Centreville with my sisters, our sponsor, and our Fire person. And it was amazing. And now I would like to go back because it was so nice and warm in the little poultice rooms and I am very cold these days. Even with several layers on. Brrrrr. I may have found a cheaper/closer/smaller option in Baltimore, but apparently that one is in a bad part of town. And we already know how Spa World is.

3. I've pretty much accomplished all the real work that I can do for this week, at least until I hear back from someone about the next step I need to take. This is leading to much screwing around on Facebook when I need to be doing research for my Beltane paper, which doesn't have a due date yet. It'll probably be at the end of the month. I'm also still waiting to hear back from my West person to find out what assignment she wants us to do.

Lots of waiting, it seems. *shivers*

I'm always reminded on Wednesdays that a friend of mine in college would offer free humps on Wednesdays. :)
1. It's seven years today since George died. I still miss him so much. Usually I go out to Ohio towards the end of the year, for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but I couldn't this year, and it'll be probably not until the summer that I'm with the family again.

2. Lucy is sulking because she had to go to the vet for her annual check-up and jabs. Not even a bribe of her favourite fish mush dinner has helped.

3. But this has made my day - Armstrong, The Good Giraffe.

Yay, I finally hit one on the day!

((hugs)) Seynar. I like the Good Giraffe, too.

1. It's getting colder and I'm getting grumpier. BFF is trying to cheer me up.
2. Overtrained last week and I'm still feeling the pain. Blarg
3. Pretty much done with work for the week, so feeling lazy.

(((((senyar))))) Much love.

1. Rapidly changing Thanksgiving plans, we were supposed to host this year for the very first time. My husband's aunt's turn for the worse has necessitated a change in venue, and the group got a whole lot larger. This will be her last Thanksgiving, and cancer takes another one. Fuck you very much, cancer. At least we are in the States so we can be there. For that, at least, I am thankful.

2. Tonight we are off to a performance of Beethoven's 9th. Beethoven's music is pretty emotional to begin with. Tonight I should be bawling after the 1st movement.

3. I took my dog to the Fancy Dog Store this morning, where upon making friends with a nice clerk, she immediately sat on the poor girl. My dog weighs eighty pounds, and she acts like she's a teacup Yorkie.

Day 2 of jury duty. We just had our first round of voir dire. I was not selected for voir dire, but I have to remain available in case they reject a bunch of the people they just questioned. On a recess now, basically waiting to find out if I have to come back tomorrow.

1. Personally enjoying the colder weather although I have started wearing a jacket on my walk to work since it's been down into the 30s in the morning. No idea where hats/gloves/scarves got to since last winter, somewhere up on the third floor probably.

2. Porch project is coming along: deck is done and the box gutter is done, waiting on a lot of the wood fabrication to be done.

3. Missing my wife who's out in California for the week on business. Just me and the cats this week.

1. While my abilities in stretching and lifting weights are improving measurably from week to week, real-world activities like riding a bike are worsening. Today's 1/2 mile on relatively flat roadway left me gasping for air and huffing nitro spray. Five months ago, I was riding 2 1/2 miles that included a moderate hill.

2. I have discovered a passion for cooked cabbage. So far, I have succesfully substituted it for potatoes (beef stew) and for rice (spanish rice, or more precisely, stuffed cabbage without the rice). My next experiment is to substitute it for noodles in a lo mein variant. My weight has continued to drop slowly but surely. (Addendum: cottage cheese, crushed pineapple and sriracha is yummy beyond any rationale.)

3. Later this afternoon I start recording the lead guitar parts in my current music project.

1. Church council meeting tonight. I'm going straight from work, so I won't see my little buddy until I get home after, probably around 9 :( I miss him!
2. I think I will have Burger King beforehand. I saw a sign yesterday for their sweet potato seasoned curly fries. How good does that sound?
3. Also need to buy little baby spoons. Baby gets to try foods soon! I think he's going to be very into food.

1. Contemplating the baby shower my bff wants to throw. Current idea is Sunday brunch at the Cheesecake Factory (if only because it sounds slightly more classy than brunch at IHOP).

2. I made lots and lots of progress on various things around the house last weekend. Trying to keep up the momentum.

3. Skipping yoga as I just don't have it in me to leave the house again. I'll try installing blinds instead.

1. Went in to work early this morning so I could leave early for physical therapy. The knee is progressing nicely but the rest of my body is still off kilter.

2. Made it back to my house on a permanent basis on Sunday. It means longer commutes to PT but it's really nice to be home.

3. I have two purring kitties next to me so all's right in their world.

1. I've been a little sick since a business trip to Denver last week but am starting to feel better

2. Denver has some GREAT shopping and I maybe went overboard and got 2 dresses, a pair of green t strap heels, a pair of nude heels, and a wrap. Things were cheap! What could I do?

3. Getting stuff done at work which makes me feel good, but there is just such a long list of work things and personal things that I need to get done and I am feeling overwhelmed (might have contributed to the shopping spree)

4. Our CSA is finally over! I will miss getting random veggies but it was feeling like a burden and I am glad it won't be my job to eat so many turnips anymore.

1. Who knew being a shabbat goy was so lucrative?
2. It should not need to be said, but: DO NOT SMOKE THE AMBIEN.
3. Apparently, in the time I have not been watching live television, some surprisingly wacky bits showed up. I find this strangely heartening.

4. I have never been good with ages, but I just give up: I have no idea how old anybody is. I think this is now a more common problem, but from now on, if people ask me to guess, I'm abandoning the blatantly erring on the side of youth thing, because no one seems to get it. First of all, why would you ask this anyway? Because invariably those who do do not seem to get that you are either asking them to lie to your face or poke you in your oozing open wound. People's widespread age hang ups are bringing me down, like all your adoptions of stereotypes.

5. If you wait a bit, someone will publish a study to back up your thinking. Suck it, self help gurus!

I really started to hate vegetables when we had a CSA subscription. "Oh god, what is this random unidentified green thing and how do I cook it?"

1. I passed part one of my therapist licensing exam, leaving me one more test to take. Woo! I had to drive out to Detroit to take it, as well as dealing with my car icing over while in the hotel parking lot this morning and not having any sort of ice scraper. But I finished the 200-question exam in 2 hours (they allow four), so it seems good.

2. While in Detroit, I went to the bestest soul food restaurant ever and had such good food that I may consider commuting the five hours daily just for dinner. Or else I'll have to figure out how to cook collard greens.

3. I learned, while driving, that Michigan has a lot of wineries. I don't really think I regret *not* stopping for any of them, however.

*whuffles for those who need them*

Let me tell you, those who are mourning the cold weather--a bath with water as hot as you can make it with some candles, incense, and a glass of wine-----ooooooooooooooooh yeah.

Burger King report: The Sweet Potato Curly Fries were not as good as I wanted them to be. They were a little too sweet, and not very crunchy. It didn't help that I waited about 15 minutes to eat them, they were kind of cold. The Chik'n'Crisp sandwich from the $1 Value Menu was very good, though, and just the right size.

Also, I bought my baby spoons!

1 - Hugs to those what need them.

2 - Work exam tomorrow morning, and car acting funny - should be studying now.

3 - Especially clever boot camp instructor this evening. We got an assigned partner, then had to run suicides while partner did work (push ups, sit ups, various awful things). My partner was much faster than me, so I killed myself on the runs, trying to not make her do minutes and minutes of work! I exclaimed at one point "THIS IS HIDEOUS" - instructor dude laughed with glee. I love boot camp, and appreciate my partner not hating me openly in class.

1. Hugs from me also to those that need them. Or just wants them.

2. Just finished attending the last of three sessions I am required to endure before we have a mediation session to decide the future of our children (who lives with them when etc). Not fun, but I suspect this will not be th worst of it.

2. Have decided on behalf of the entire planet that Christmas is cancelled this year. I just don't want to deal with all the stuff that it brings with the whole separation thing going on. Sorry for the Christmas lovers - you'll just have to wait until next year.
