Question regarding movies. I have a full day off tomorrow (university holiday!) and want, nay *need*, to treat myself to lunch and a movie.[More:] I've decided on Banh Mi for lunch, but can't pick a movie. Which should I see? Looper? The Master? Frankenweenie? All three intrigue me. I'm not a frequent movie-goer (I've only seen The Avengers on the big screen this year). I'll likely see them all eventually when they're available on streaming.
I saw The Master a couple weeks ago, and I'm still not completely sure what my verdict is. It's certainly an experience, however, and one I'll endorse, especially if you liked the mercurial, slow-burning menace of There Will Be Blood. The score alone makes it worth the price of a ticket.

I have heard great things about Looper and am seeing it myself this weekend!

Seconding Looper.

If you haven't seen/read a lot of time travel plots, you will probably like Looper.

Oh, it's a time travel plot? Let me just go back in time and not read this thread.

We're going to see Looper on Saturday. Dredd is getting decent reviews.

I liked Arbitrage better than The Master. I see that Lawrence of Arabia and Airplane are being screened....and if you are into Bollywood movies, there is one called Barfi playing in Tulsa.

I'm going to see Looper on Monday, when I can use my discount coupon.

I really liked The Master and would even go see it again which is incredibly rare for me. There is a lot in there. It's a densely packed film, which is funny because sometimes it felt slow watching it. But now afterwards I am still thinking about it a lot.

I want to see Compliance most of all right now. Don't know if it is playing near you.
Oh and I liked Sleepwalk with Me more than I thought I would.

Thanks, folks. There's a 1:30 showing of Looper at the cinema near where I'll be running errands that I'm gonna catch. That should be great timing for coming home and getting settled in for the MLB wild card games.

Hooray for an off day!

I'm going to see V/H/S this weekend. Made in Atlanta!

From what I've heard about V/H/S, BoPo, you may want to take some Dramamine first.

Gotta love R-rated movies on weekday afternoons. Less than ten minutes til showtime and there are two other people in here with me. Awesome.

Re: Looper. I liked it quite a bit. Didn't *love* it, but it's a solid, mainstream Sci-Fi flick with no major plotholes and nothing that made me roll my eyes and feel insulted, which is pretty rare these days.

Hated JGL's make-up though. I'm already suspending a lot of belief to enjoy the movie. I can make that leap too, thankyouverymuch.

Nah, I edit raw video for a living. I'm not the delicate flower some American audiences seem to be. :)
