Love to eat them mousies...
Mousies what I love to eat!
Bite they little heads off,
Nibble on they tiny feet!

I had a poster of this in my bedroom as a young girl. I didn't learn about Kliban's more risqué work in Playboy until I was an adult.

I like it!

My technique involves starting with the head, taking it off with one bite, and then working my way down. In all it takes me about thirty seconds to eat one, but I'm working on improving my time.

I loved, loved, loved this cartoon. His non-cat cartoons, like in the Biggest Tongue in Tunisia, are if anything more hilariously surreal.

KIlban is kind of a cartoonists cartoonist. Every 'toonist I've met loves him way out of proportion to his status in the world as "cat picture guy". There's a great print of his "Hey outta way bub, a cartoonist is walking here!" panel up in the New Yorker Cartoon Dept waiting room/storage closet.

I'm sitting in an airport bar in Portland, ME waiting for a delayed flight and sipping a Shipyard Old Thumper. The bartender just said "last call," but we can't go home and have no choice but to stay here. I bet purgatory is like this.

I remember kilban featured on a kids' show in the 70's...something like marvin and his fantastic machine but imdb isn't turning up anything.
