Eye update→[More:]The retinologist could't find anything; he said I could get my corneas checked, but he didn't think that was the issue. I see the regular optho the 18th.
Is that a good thing? Did he give any indication of what may be the culprit?
Good luck! Vision issues rank right up there as some of the Scariest Things. I lost sight in my left eye nearly five years ago to an untreatable CRVO, so I feel you, sister.
It's good that the retinas are ok, but he has no idea what the problem is. After the MRI test was clear, the neuro optho suggested it was migraines, but I've never had them and my eye issue isn't episodic.

Just to be sure you know: it's completely possible to have the complex of visual effects associated with migraines without having headache pain. This is called "silent migraine" --- though you're right that, at least in my experience, these are episodic effects, not a persistent condition.
Just a heads-up in case you didn't know that! Here's hoping you can get this sorted out soon.
I've had one migraine and two or three episodes of ocular migraine, spaced over several years, so infrequency of occurrence doesn't mean it couldn't be migraine.

Those are pretty close to my stats, only backwards: two migraines, one ocular migraine. Over...wow, is it really almost twenty years? That's a long time.
What's going on with me is constant. If light shines directly into my eyes my vision goes anywhere from gray to black. I can see again if I shade my eyes. If I'm in front of a window, I can see out and what the light shines on, but what's in shadow is grayed. I can see it if I block the light source. I can't see faces at night if the light is behind them, nor can I see faces during the day if they're in front of a window.
The retina optho said "Well, you're a puzzle". I'm very glad he didn't say "Don't worry about it". I've had my optic nerves and major blood vessels checked, bloodwork and an MRI (which wouldn't have been too bad if I hadn't had to have dye IV'd into my wrist at the same time). So far, nothing.
That must be so frustrating! I've had medical trouble the doctors couldn't chase down to its root and it was infuriating. Sorry you're going through this.
