Yeah, I was unsure how to feel about it. I had a tour with one of the staff who works at the Holocaust Museum in DC, and he pointed out to us that in the museum's design they were very careful never to display items with Nazi iconography in a way that lent them greater power. If you go there you'll see that the swastika flag is always shown partially obscured, or behind something, etc. He mentioned that the graphic strength of the iconography is recognized, and they don't want to do anything to underscore or inadvertently celebrate that strength, especially as it's still frequently adopted by hate groups. I've used the "-Nazi" construction to make fun of rigid people, but I don't know that I'm ready for poking fun by directly quoting the graphic imagery of the regime.
IU is filled with what I call Nazi youth architecture. South Korea had Nazi themed clubs because they liked the style completely, ignorantly, divorced from the politics. Realism is the art of fascism; ban realism.
Never be vague. Never be ambiguous. Never let people make up their own minds about how they feel about things. Never challenge people's perceptions or inspire critical thinking. Tow the clearly demarcated line already.
Don't you dare think for yourselves. Someone thought something once; that should be good enough. Check with them first. Who do you think you are.
