Bunny movie reviews and recommendations please Especially interested in the "new" Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises, but happy to get any flick recs from bunnyland.
Moonrise Kingdom is the only Wes Anderson movie that I uncategorically love!

I recently watched Brooklyn's Finest, it's formulaic but good, maybe my favorite Richard Gere role ever.

Warrior, the MMA movie with Nick Nolte, is awesome, heartbreaking, I actually sobbed when it was over.

I just watched In Bruges, I enjoyed it immensely. It's funny, though pretty violent.

I saw a Korean film called War of the Arrows, historical epic, legendary story set during a Manchu invasion.

Last night I watched Sword of Desperation, a recent samurai flick, it's beautiful and grotesque, really great character studies, gorgeous kimonos. It disturbed my sleep.

Goon, with Seann Willam Scott as a hockey enforcer, was a lot of fun.

If you haven't seen Elite Squad II: The Enemy Within, you should. It's like The Wire, only Brazilian and movie-length, and you don't need to see the prequel first. Biggest grossing film in Brazilian history.

Two more difficult to find but totally rewarding Japanese movies are Nankyoku Ryorinin (Chef of South Polar) and Shiawase no Kaori (Taste of Happiness). Both are food movies. The former is about a coast guard cook who gets sent down to serve as chef at the Japanese Antarctic station, the latter, about a woman in search of herself finding instead the aging owner of a Chinese restaurant.

That recent Captain America flick was good. I liked Cleanskin with Sean Bean. The Raid: Redemption is fun. The Assault is pretty good too.

If you haven't seen A Prophet, I can't recommend it enough.

Seems like I enjoy a lot of brutal cinema. Maybe so.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel flew by even at a shade over 2 hours. Judi Dench and Maggie Smith perform for their fans, nothing new but trademark characterizations from each. If only they could have got Helen Mirren in there as well...

I really enjoyed Rock of Ages, which was fun and very silly. Even Tom Cruise was good, which, coming from me, is really high praise.

I want to see Ted, because I love Family Guy.

Primo recommendations, all of you. Please keep 'em coming!

Hugh, I like brutal cinema myself and really liked In Bruges too, the only one on your list I've seen. Plus the food movies look great.

I enjoyed The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel also. First flick I've seen in awhile.

Loved Moonrise Kingdom, saw Snow White and the Huntsman but wasn't too thrilled with it. Just caught the Fincher version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on video which is a pretty close filming of the book (didn't see the Swedish version), very well done but gave my wife bad dreams.

Can't wait for Batman this weekend. They filmed a lot of it right near where I live so I can't wait to see the Batwing zooming down Smithfield Street past the Kaufman's Clock.

To Rome With Love was much better than I expected - not quite Midnight in Paris, but funny, intricate enough, and very sincerely Italian in flavor. Alec Baldwin has some good moments.

I liked To Rome with Love a lot, also. The Kid on the Bike is a movie I liked a lot also but not sure how many art houses there are in Seattle (more than in Eugene, I am sure).

The new Spider-Man is cute. It helped that I watched it cuddled up in a theater with a boy I was falling for, but it was genuinely good. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are both utterly gorgeous and charming. This version of Spider-Man isn't as nerdy and angsty; he's still kind of an outcast, and the relevant tragedies still happen, but he's funny and silly and badass as well. I enjoyed it.
