I went on vacation, got my house painted and my kid got into the school we wanted for pre-kindergarten. All very mundane things, but they make me happy.

Just got back from vacation too. My sister gave me a kindle fire, so I'm exploring the concept of reading via a little flat object that also tells me baseball scores and checks my email. Not sure how much I'll use it but I like the idea of being able to carry all of Trollope with me wherever I go.

I was in Iceland!

I'll be flying to Montpellier tomorrow. Just a few days for work. But I tagged the weekend on to it to explore Montpellier and the surroundings. Before booking the sunday flight back I only checked wikipedia about Montpellier. When I saw that it features a roman aquaduct I knew enough. They have old crap to look at and enjoy.
A friend mentioned that Kathar castles should be closeby. If that's true I'm planning on renting a car and going to explore.

I thought of having to brush off my German because I'll be visiting my German aunt who'll be turning 75. And nobody will speak anything but German.
But it turns out I'll have to brush off my French first.

I think every country should have a name that ends in the suffix -land.
Greenland, Iceland, Fireland (Terra del Fuego), Deutschland, Netherland, Tornadoland (US).

A Land For Every Man!

This is the third-to-last day in my job - I (and all of my co-workers) start at a new agency on Monday. Massive, massive clean-up going on so that we can leave the offices nice and clean for the next occupants. Kind of scary/exciting - looking forward to it, but I lose my free car :-(

I just arrived home yesterday after 2 weeks in Ohio, where I attended the Washboard Music Festival and also the most beautiful wedding.

Diane has come back with me for two weeks, and tomorrow we're going to Paris! I am SO excited about that.

I can tell you anything you wanna know about gotye. He's an old friend of mine. I know him well...really well. Whatcha wanna know?

Gosh, I hope if I ever get famous my friends don't volunteer to tell people everything they know about me.
