More cool animation (dare I do this twice in one day?) with a girl who may be the World's Worst Bookseller, but a Pretty Good Storyteller (in Dutch with English subtitles). And there is a bunny.
That was lovely! I especially liked the ribbon-like quality of the animals. It's right around my level of Dutch comprehension, too. Love how matter of fact she is, totally reminds me of any of my young cousins. Thanks!

You speak Dutch? Security Alert!!
Our obfuscation-by-language has been compromised!

The animation is cute.
But factually incorrect!
It's situated in Utrecht: the city I live in. But none of the werven (medieval quays next to the canal, below the street level) has shop fronts.
No shop in the Netherlands would be called Hipsters.
Koninginnedag childrens flea market is not situated on the werven.
Etc.

Haha-- yeah, my first sentence was "Oma, ik heb en egeltje gezien!" I was nineteen, but in my defense it was a pretty cute hedgehog. I've only briefly traveled through Utrecht but I did live in Amsterdam for a while (I have family scattered throughout the country). Wanted to see what life was like in the Fatherland (though I suppose if I got really technical, I should have been up in Vriesland with the farmers).

Currently missing: bitterballen, that strawberry ontbijt juice from Albert Heijn, patat met satay, proper oude goudsekaas, and my café cat that I named Winkelwagentje (which, next to "wegpiraterij" is my favorite Dutch word)- a cat that I stole from the pizza place next door using small bits of salmon. Although he's probably long gone, that was a while back!

The Vaderland!
Wegpiraterij is a good choice for a favourite word.

My city is cooler than it often gets credit for || Cornbread: Should it be sweet, or not?
