Need help providing tunes for my daughter's road trip →[More:]Problem: Daughter is facing a long cross-country trip from Indiana to Oklahoma in her car with a dead CD-player. Only option is radio or get her one of the following...

• Belkin TuneBase FM
• Griffin iTrip Universal+

I know these kinds of gadgets aren't incredibly great or anything, but she'd at least be able to listen to her own music on the trip, right? My gut leans toward the TuneBase because I like the way the iPod mounts to the transmitter. Nice and neat. But, if it's junk, then never mind.

Anyway...If anyone has any experience using these things, I'd love to hear about it, good and bad. Need to make a decision in the next couple of days.

I've seen a couple of these types of things in the wild (my ex had one, for instance) and it seemed to work alright. I think the success of them is hard to predict though. Is it possible to pick up one or two in town, and try them out and return them if they don't work?

Yeah. My local Best Buy has both, and that's where we would be getting them, since my daughter leaves Thursday. I was hoping to get a definitive "get this one" though, cause I really hate returning stuff at BB. Well, I just generally hate BB, but it's the only option here.

I wish I had that info too. I absolutely despise returning things, as well. I've always been amazed by my mom's propensity to just buy shit, and then return it later. Like it's NOT one of the worst things you can even do. She just doesn't seem to get it. I wish you good luck though!

Does her car have an aux outlet for the radio? She can plug the headphone part of her ipod into that.

No. No aux. Which is why I was asking about these gadgets.
