The sun actually came out. It's salad weather! Here in Seattle, the sun has eluded us even more than the reputation of this region would lead one to expect. But...we have just had several days of actual spring, involving breaking out the sunglasses and all sorts of unaccustomed activity. Time to put away the soup and casserole recipes and figure out some cool new kick-ass salads.

I have a few go-to recipes, both of which involve cabbage, and both of which involve some decadent ingredients. The Asian slaw incorporates honey-roasted peanuts and pickled ginger, and the red cabbage salad is frankly, primarily a vehicle for gorgonzola, toasted walnuts, and golden raisins. I'll gladly share these with anyone who gives a rip....but would really appreciate a few new ideas. Preferably not heavily mayonnaise-based. Not totally averse to mayo, but it's not what I'm looking for right now. Who better to ask about their favorite salad recipes than a bunch of bunnies?
